Latest HTC Max photo leaks make the Galaxy Note 3 look small

HTC's rumoured HTC One Max phablet has appeared online yet again, ahead of any official confirmation from the company itself.

The new photos, which were posted to the Chinese social network Sina Weibo, show the Max sat side-by-side with a Galaxy Note 3. The 5.9in monster manages to make Samsung's phablet look practically small by comparison.

HTC Max leak

It was widely expected that the One Max would include a 5.9in, Full HD 1080p display, a large 3,300mAh battery, 2GB of RAM and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, but benchmark results accompanying this latest leak suggest that it will in fact use a less powerful Snapdragon 600 - the same chip found inside the 4.7in HTC One.

Based on the leaked images, the One Max appears to eschew the all-in-one aluminium construction of the One in favour of plastic edging, last seen on the HTC One Mini. Hopefully that will lead to a lower price, which could mean customers will be able to pick up the oversized smartphone for a similar price to the more manageable One.

HTC Max fingerprint

Also pictured is the rumoured fingerprint sensor, which looks set to add biometric security to Android in an effort to compete with Apple's TouchID-equipped iPhone 5s.

We'll hopefully learn more in the coming weeks, as HTC is expected to formally announce the One Max in October.
