If you are attempting to sign in to PlayStation Network and get a message saying that it is the wrong password, don't worry. Sony has announced that it has reset the passwords on some PSN accounts because it detected "suspicious activity". The company apparently does this routinely when it detects suspicious activity, according to a post on the PlayStation forums."We routinely monitor for irregular activity, and if such activity is detected, we may sometimes reset passwords of affected SEN accounts to protect consumers and their account information," the post states.

To get your account back, all you have to do is reset your password. This can be done in a number of ways, either through your PlayStation device (3, 4, Vita) or through a PC. Depending on how you want to go about it, you can change your password by following the steps here.Sony has become wary of security issues ever since it was hacked a couple of years ago, with the attack culminating in a lot of unencrypted data getting into the hands of hackers. Since then, the company’s online service has been deemed too "unsafe", and many have turned to competitors like Microsoft’s Xbox Live. Sony has since tried to woo customers back, and struck on a gold mine of an idea when it introduced the Instant Game Collection for PlayStation Plus subscriptions. Essentially, if you’re paying for PS Plus, you get a bunch of games for free. It’s not just old or obscure titles; one of the games up for grabs in recent times was Assassin’s Creed 3.
