Now, you can eat your Instagram selfies

Nearly everyone on Instagram has added a retro looking filter to an image of their meal or a fancy dinner they prepared at least once. You can now eat the photos of your meal, or nearly any Instagram image you’ve ever posted. Boomf has started to ship marshmallows with Instagram images printed on them.Boomf is a UK based company that is willing to put your Instagram pictures on individual marshmallows that can actually be consumed. All you need to do is give them nine images from your Instagram account that you want to see on your food and they’ll do the rest. The company writes on its website, “Boomf makes anything edible. Sunsets, kittens, Macchu Picchu, your Auntie Barbara. Devour your mates one by one after dinner, turn your selfies into a romantic gift for your significant other, or roast your ex over a bonfire. Yum!” Err, that sounds slightly cannibalistic, but it’s probably the experience that counts.

The company is currently shipping these marshmallows only within the UK for now and a box of nine pieces will set you back £12 (Rs. 1,215 approx.) That may sound a little too much to be able to eat something that has hipster filter images on it but at least the shipping’s free. The Next Web even went out and ordered a box of these marshmallows and they confirm that these marshmallows actually taste like, well, marshmallows. Currently available only in vanilla flavour, the company seems keen on releasing the marshmallows in other flavours too. One thing you must remember if you intend to gift a box of Boomfs to your friend on his birthday is that since it connects with a web app, you won’t be able to use your friend’s Instagram images on the marshmallows. Unless you have his password, in which case we would still advice you to not do it.

Boomf has only added to a growing industry of turning Instagram images into physical products. Remember, we’ve seen a Kickstarter for Instagram wallets before this too. However, nothing sounds better than being able to devour food that has a picture of food you clicked previously. Bring out your Xzibit memes!
