Twitter finally releases optimised app for Android tablets, exclusively for Samsung

Twitter account holders who use the social networking service’s apps on Android tablets are familiar with how annoying the layout looks like. Being one of the biggest social website, Twitter has never had an Android tablet optimised application, until now. It would be wise, however, to not hold your breath over this one as Twitter has launched this application for just one device – the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1.For years Twitter has given Android tablet users merely an enlarged version of its mobile application to use. Now, anyone who has used a tablet will realise how annoying it is to deal with a layout designed to fit a smaller screen on a large one. An optimised version of Twitter for Android was something that was long requested from the company.

Twitter has, at long last, decided to release a version of its app for larger Android devices. The app looks pretty much like the one the company released for the iPad a while ago. Unfortunately, Twitter has released this application just for the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1. This move is bound to enrage tablet users who had been waiting for an application of this sort for years. However, Twitter seems to have taken the tailoring of its app for the newest Note device seriously. The application fills the screen in landscape mode with tweets, conversations, trends and more. There’s the ability to view tweets in a multi-screen view, one of Note’s USP. There’s also a Twitter widget that brings content directly to your home screen. Most importantly, Twitter will let you illustrate your tweets with doodles using your S-Pen to create and share images.

Twitter for Android Tablets is available for the Samsung Galaxy Note 10,1-2014 edition starting now and is slated to come to more Android tablets by the end of the year. There’s no word on when the app will come to Android tablets manufactured by other companies.
