Samsung has finally released the much-awaited Android 4.3 update for the Exynos 5 Octa variant of the Galaxy S4, which is the international version, according to UberGizmo. The update, while not adding anything new at a glance, has made a bunch of improvements to the operating system under the hood. The biggest of these improvements are the inclusion of the new TRIM file system, support for OpenGL 3.0 and provisions for Bluetooth 4.0 LE.With the addition of Bluetooth LE, it looks like the smartphone is now ready to be used alongside the recently-released Galaxy Gear smartwatch. The update also brought along some new things, such as Samsung’s KNOX security suite, Samsung Wallet, better management of RAM and an updated version of the Samsung keyboard and the browser. The update is being rolled out gradually, so if you still haven’t gotten a notification on your phone asking you to download it, don’t fret.
Android 4.3 at last!
Just a few days ago, the LTE version of the Galaxy S4, which runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600, got the update. Sadly enough, the Galaxy S3 hasn’t gotten the update yet, and there has been no word from Samsung about it.The Galaxy S4 was launched earlier this year. Here are the key specs of the smartphone:
