Even as LG and Samsung tussle over which company came up with the first curved smartphone, the latter has released an advertisement to show its curved Samsung Galaxy Round off. The ad, of course, is in Korean since the phone will have a limited run in South Korea as a prototype.Samsung Galaxy Round’s ad talks about the “real round” phone, essentially trying to show off its natural curve. The ad shows a person running his fingers on curved objects found around like an avocado, an egg, glass, bottle, a microphone, a curved postcard and even a baby’s hand – doesn’t matter if the objects are a mix of concave and convex curves. The tussle between the Samsung Galaxy Round and the LG G Flex – announced earlier this week – may not be a long drawn out one since both phones will be available in limited quantities in South Korea. Both companies are based in the country. The major difference in the curving of the two phones is while Samsung Galaxy Round is curved on the vertical axis, the LG G Flex is curved on the horizontal axis. Essentially, when you look at the phones, you’ll realise that the Galaxy Round looks like it’s folding itself from left to right while the G Flex looks like you could fold it from top to bottom. That said, the ad looks a little weird with a lot of objects being obsessively touched by the person, even as the Samsung Galaxy Round looks like an interesting piece. It is essentially like the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, minus the S-Pen support and a curved body. The phone will sport a 5.7-inch, 1080p display screen and will be powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core processor as well as 3GB RAM. It will house a 13-megapixel primary and a 2-megapixel front facing camera. The Samsung Galaxy Round will run Android version 4.3 Jelly Bean and it packs in a 2,800mAh battery. The phone will have a limited run in South Korea and is priced at 1.09 million won.
