Samsung Note 3's camera app now ported to Galaxy S4

Samsung’s latest phablet, the Galaxy Note 3, comes with a slew of exclusive features. One of them is the new camera feature called Surround Shot, which is almost similar to Google’s Photosphere. Now, XDA senior member LastStandingDroid has made it possible for owners of the Galaxy S4 to get their hands on the new app. The XDA member has disclosed how the camera app can be back-ported to the Galaxy S4. It requires the S4 to run Android 4.3 along with a layer of the TouchWiz UI. Once users meet these requirements, all they need to do is flash a zip file through Custom Recovery. However, porting the app to S4 does come with some incompatibilities. For instance, it will not work on any S4 with AOSP-derived ROM. Click here to view the detailed instructions.

Launched last month, the Note 3 is being sold for around Rs 47,000. On the camera front, it comes with a 13-megapixel auto focus BSI Sensor along with Smart Stabilisation and an LED Flash. The front-facing 2-megapixel BSI sensor can record Full HD videos at 30fps. Surround Shot stitches together several shots to form a 360-degree image. Porting the app to S4 may not bring similar performance as seen in the Note 3. Take a look at the video below that shows the camera app on the S4.
