Samsung has quietly pulled the covers off its new Galaxy Trend Lite and Galaxy Fame Lite for the Netherlands. These are trimmed down versions of the already low-cost Galaxy Trend and Galaxy Fame respectively, which means they would be really basic and entry-level. However, there is no word on the pricing of the devices or their availability in other markets. The Samsung Galaxy Trend Lite hasn’t changed much from its older sibling. It features a 4-inch display and comes powered by a 1GHz processor (yet unknown) with 512MB RAM. However, unlike the original Trend, the Lite version runs on higher Android 4.1 Jelly Bean version and doesn’t have dual SIM capability. The smartphone measures 121.5 x 63.1 x 10.85mm and weighs 126 grams. The rear camera has been downgraded while the front-facing camera has been pulled out altogether.

Take a quick look at some of its specs:
- 4-inch TFT capacitive display with 480 x 800 pixels of resolution

- 4GB in-built storage, expandable up to 64GB via microSD card
The Galaxy Fame Lite is a single SIM device unlike the original Fame, but sports a similar screen size of 3.5-inches. It is powered by a slower 850MHz processor coupled with 512MB RAM. The Fame Lite gets the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean flavour and is kept alive by a mediocre 1300 mAh battery. Samsung has pulled out the front-facing camera and NFC, while the rear camera has been downgraded to 3 megapixels.
