Nokia could launch six new devices in its Abu Dhabi event in October

Nokia seems to have big plans in store for its Innovation Reinvented event set to be held in Abu Dhabi next month. According to sources, we could be looking at the launch of not one but two new Lumia phones as well as four other devices too. According to the report carried by The Verge, sources familiar with Nokia’s plans for the big event say that we could be looking at the launch in the Asha line up of phones as well. The phone launches will also be supported with a new range of accessories. One of them, hints the source, will be “pretty special” but there’s nothing else known about it at this point of time.

The event, set to be held on October 22 could well be seeing the launch of the much-spoken about Lumia 1520, a larger 6-inch device. If released next month, the Lumia 1520 will be the largest Windows Phone device so far. Another device that we can expect to be showcased during the event is the much-rumoured tablet from Nokia. Codenamed “Sirius”, the Lumia 2520 tablet will possibly be the device to watch out for in Abu Dhabi. While plans for Sirius seem to have been kept tightly under wraps, Nokia in the past has hinted that it would like to step into the tablet market and this could be the ideal time for it to release it. While Nokia may have sent off its hardware department to Microsoft for good, The Verge suggests that the release of this tablet could well be one last hurrah left for Nokia before it bows out of the consumer market.
