A major update has hit the iOS version of Line, the cross-platform messaging app. And Line has gone the Vine way with a new video-sharing feature (currently only for iOS) called “Snap Movie” that allows users to share short video clips. Users can take a video by long-pressing on the display and also choose from Line’s collection of background music for the footage.
The app update also brings video-conferencing ability seen in most of the free messaging apps these days. Users simply need to select a friend from their list and tap on “Video Call” to start a conversation. Here's a video clip using the Snap Movie function:
Users will also see a new “Albums” function for chatrooms, where you can create and edit photo albums with a friend or a group. Only the members within the chatroom can add or delete photos from the album. The new update also improves privacy for Line’s Timeline feature. It brings privacy settings for individual posts and also adds the ability to delete users from “Blocked Users” and “Hidden Users” lists. Line has been redesigned and optimised for iOS 7. It is also optimized for iPhone and iPod touch that run on iOS 4.3 and later. The Line app can be downloaded for free from Apple App Store.
