“Don’t be fooled into thinking this is just a port to console,” said Jason Perkins, Managing Director of Curve Digital in a statement. “It’s very clear just how much work Jasper and the team at Curve have put into making this a game worthy of the ‘Director’s Cut’ title”.Along with a completely new lighting system designed to improve the game’s distinctive style both on HDTVs and the Vita’s display, the developers claim that the Director’s Cut edition of Lone Survivor also features hundreds of tweaks and changes to the original game including new dialogue, over twenty new items, brand new endings, trophies and secrets.Much like the Silent Hill franchise, Lone Survivor: The Director’s Cut is a survival horror game that focuses as much on insanity, loneliness and isolation as it does on actual enemies. According to developer Jasper Byrne, the game was directly influenced by Silent Hill and psychological thrillers like Twin Peaks.Lone Survivor gives players many different ways to approach situations they encounter in the game. Avoid combat, or tackle your foes head on. Seek out companions or escape alone. Maintain your own sanity or risk falling into madness. The PC version of the game is available on digital distribution platform Steam for $9.99 (Rs 632 approx).
