KEF has announced the further expansion of its Ci Series custom install speakers with the introduction of its latest high performance Home Theatre Ci Series. The new line up comprises; the round In-Ceiling Ci200RR speaker, the rectangular In-Wall Ci4100QL, Ci3160RL and Ci5160RLspeakers and the rectangular In-Wall subwoofers Ci4100QLb, Ci3160RLb. The series is completed by the KASA500 DSP controlled subwoofer amplifier.
Incorporating the latest KEF technology the new Home Theatre speaker models incorporate, the innovative and multi-award winning Uni-Q driver array, derived from KEF Blade. Situated in its own enclosure, optimised for the best possible acoustic performance, the Uni-Q driver produces an impressively wide sound dispersion characteristic. In addition, it delivers an exceptionally accurate, fast and clean midrange response with excellent dynamics and power handling – perfect for install applications where space is at a premium but performance is not.
The In-Ceiling Ci200RR features a powerful 200mm Uni-Q driver array derivative from the Q900 speaker, the flagship floor-stander from the KEF Q Series. It features extra wide, dog-leg fixings for a more secure grip and KEF's UTB (Ultra-Thin Bezel) design offering the slimmest possible rim around the speaker, to achieve the minimum of visual intrusion on the interior space.
The Ci4100QL, Ci3160RL and Ci5160RL speakers are an all new rectangular design, specifically engineered for serious audio-visual systems’ front, left, centre, right and side applications.
To support the speaker models listed above, two In-Wall subwoofers and bespokeamplifier have been designed to provide thedeep bass. The smaller In-Wall subwoofer, the Ci4100QLb utilises 4 x 100mm (4in) LF drivers and visually matches the design of the Ci4100QL speaker, providing perfect visual integration as well as enhancing the sonic capabilities into a true high performance discreet movie system, ideal for smaller environments.
Both subwoofers have to be powered by the KASA500 DSP controlled subwoofer amplifier, it features 2 x 250W per channel and DSP processing. With speaker and line level inputs the KASA500 is designed to power up to two of the in-wall subwoofers to deliver 6dB more bass output and is engineered tospecifically match the two subwoofer models as it features custom EQ curves matched to each individual subwoofer plate.
