Smartphone manufacturer Micromax has now pulled a rabbit out of the hat by tying up with Aircel, one of the leading network providers in India. The deal revolves around device bundling and offers on smartphone and 3G dongles, according to fonearena. Micromax and Aircel will now be sharing channel, retail networks and sales resources. In addition, both companies will also set up an integrated device sales activation programme. The smartphone manufacturer is also rolling out reverse bundling handset offers for new Aircel customers worth Rs 12,000. All this basically points to the two companies partnering in the retail market, with Aircel stores across the country now slated to display Micromax phones. This should be a huge expansion for Micromax, as Aircel already has a large national network.

The integration also means that all Micromax devices sold through Aircel will come with the company’s SIM cards pre-installed and offer reverse data and call package bundling. That basically means that there will be data and call packages associated with the individual devices being sold. The companies, in an official presentation, fleshed out all the data and call packages being offered. All the company’s smartphones will now get 2GB of 3G data for a period of three months. Local calls will now be charged one paisa for two seconds while STD calls will be charged one paisa for every three seconds.
The company is also rolling out free WAP content like music and video services free for a period of three months. The bundle also comes with free usage of the Internet TV app for three months. 3G Dongles will get 500MB of data free for three months. From the looks of it, the new bundled call and data packages should start rolling out soon.
