Alleged Nexus 5 spotted with Android KitKat boot screen

While we’ve seen all the drama around the Nexus 5 from being accidently spotted at the Android KitKat promotional video to its specs leaked via FFC filing, here’s some more. 9To5Google has now got its hands on some new photos and short clips of the alleged Nexus 5. This time around, it’s not through FCC or a Google employee but courtesy a bar employee. Apparently, an employee at a bar was able to capture photos and short videos of the Nexus 5 when a Google employee left it for charging unattended.

The image looks almost identical to the pre-production unit spotted at FCC and also with the Google employee in the promotional video. The image shows the previously seen Nexus logo on the back panel. The back seems to sport a ruberised texture for a firm grip. On the other hand, the video gives a glimpse of the new Android KitKat boot screen. However, the screen of the LG device is locked so there's no digging further.

Take a look at the short clips showing the alleged Nexus 5.

Here's another really short clip.

The Nexus 5 is said to be almost similar to the LG G2, but will sport a smaller 5-inch display. Going by the previous leaks, it is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 800 SoC. It is said to be tested for several wireless standards, including LTE that should work with carriers like AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint. It will come with support for HSPA and GSM bands, and also CDMA and EVDO Rev A. The healthy list of specs includes Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and dual-band 802.11 b/g/n/ac. We’ve dug up all the rumours and leaks around the Nexus 5. Google is believed to have shut the production of 8GB and 16GB Nexus 4 units and rumours of the Nexus slated for October 14 launch have started surfacing. This indicates that the Nexus 5 is possibly on its way.
