Micromax launches 4-inch display Canvas Fun A63 for Rs 6,799




Indian smartphone manufacturer Micromax’s new budget Android smartphone, the Canvas Fun A63, is now available in India for Rs 6,799. The smartphone is slated to be the cheapest smartphone in the Canvas Fun series.

A quick look at the specifications reveals that the Fun A63 will come with a 4-inch WVGA display with a pixel resolution of 480 x 800. Internally, the smartphone is powered by a single-core 1.3GHz MediaTek 6572 processor with 512MB of RAM packed in. The dual-SIM running phone also comes with 1GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD slot. Other features of the budget Micromax smartphone include a 2-megapixel rear camera with flash. The Fun A63 will run Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box. Connectivity is taken care of with most of the usual suspects being present like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Edge, GPRS, GPS and 3G. Rounding up the package is a 1,500mAh battery that the company claims will give up to 4.5 hours of talk time and 135 hours of standby time.

The Indian smartphone manufacturer has been adding quite a few budget and mid-range Android smartphones to its stable this month. The company has earlier introduced the Canvas Ego A113, which went up for pre-order at Rs 12,999.

A quick recap shows that the Ego A113 comes with a 4.7-inch display along with a 1.2GHz quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM under the hood. The dual-SIM phone comes with 4GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 32GB via a microSD slot. Photography-wise, the smartphone comes with an 8-megapixel primary camera with a LED flash, with no confirmation yet about a front-facing camera. The smartphone will run Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Rounding up the package is a 2000mAh battery. With the number of new launches rising, it definitely looks like Micromax is sticking to its plan of catering to every segment in the market.
