Finally, Samsung’s much-awaited Note 3 has been launched for Indian users in an event held in Delhi today. In the last week, we’ve seen several rumours and speculations about the price at which the Note 3 will be made available in India. The Note 3 is available at a hefty price of Rs 49,900 for the 32GB model, and will be available from September 25.
The Note 3 brings in a refreshed design compared to its predecessors. It has a leather-esque material used for the back panel with stitched accents, which doesn't look bad. The display on the Note 3 is bigger than its predecessors, but the company has managed to keep the overall size of the device the same as the Note 2.
The Galaxy Note 3 sports a 5.7-inch full HD Super AMOLED display with a pixel resolution of 1920 x 1080, giving it a pixel density of 386ppi. Samsung has come up with two variants of the phone, each coming with a different processor under the hood – Qualcomm Snapdragon and Samsung’s Exynos chip. The Note 3 model for India gets the company’s improved version of the Exynos 5 Octa chip clocked at 1.9GHz, which packs an ARM Cortex-A15 chip with a more power-friendly Cortex-A7. It comes with the latest Android 4.3 Jelly Bean running the show as well as 3GB of RAM. The S Pen also gets a variety of new features like Air Command, Action Memo, Scrapbook, Screen Write and S Finder among others. Keeping the security concerns of its users in mind, the company has added Samsung's Knox security suite to the package. Check out the official hands on video showcasing the new features of the Note 3 and Gear. On the camera front, it comes with a 13-megapixel auto focus BSI Sensor along with Smart Stabilisation and an LED Flash. The Note 3 also comes with 4K video shooting capability. The front-facing 2-megapixel BSI sensor can record Full HD videos at 30fps. On the connectivity front, it gets all the usual suspects like WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, NFC, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 and MHL 2.0. The built-in memory is expandable up to 64GB via a microSD card slot. Powering all of this is its 3,200 mAh battery.
