Samsung Galaxy Note 3 launched in India for Rs 49,900




Finally, Samsung’s much-awaited Note 3 has been launched for Indian users in an event held in Delhi today. In the last week, we’ve seen several rumours and speculations about the price at which the Note 3 will be made available in India. The Note 3 is available at a hefty price of Rs 49,900 for the 32GB model, and will be available from September 25.

The Note 3 brings in a refreshed design compared to its predecessors. It has a leather-esque material used for the back panel with stitched accents, which doesn't look bad. The display on the Note 3 is bigger than its predecessors, but the company has managed to keep the overall size of the device the same as the Note 2.

The Galaxy Note 3 sports a 5.7-inch full HD Super AMOLED display with a pixel resolution of 1920 x 1080, giving it a pixel density of 386ppi. Samsung has come up with two variants of the phone, each coming with a different processor under the hood – Qualcomm Snapdragon and Samsung’s Exynos chip. The Note 3 model for India gets the company’s improved version of the Exynos 5 Octa chip clocked at 1.9GHz, which packs an ARM Cortex-A15 chip with a more power-friendly Cortex-A7. It comes with the latest Android 4.3 Jelly Bean running the show as well as 3GB of RAM. The S Pen also gets a variety of new features like Air Command, Action Memo, Scrapbook, Screen Write and S Finder among others. Keeping the security concerns of its users in mind, the company has added Samsung's Knox security suite to the package. On the camera front, it comes with a 13-megapixel auto focus BSI Sensor along with Smart Stabilisation and an LED Flash. The Note 3 also comes with 4K video shooting capability. The front-facing 2-megapixel BSI sensor can record Full HD videos at 30fps. On the connectivity front, it gets all the usual suspects like WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, NFC, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 and MHL 2.0. The built-in memory is expandable up to 64GB via a microSD card slot. Powering all of this is its 3,200 mAh battery.
