BlackBerry is gearing up to launch the 5in Z30 handset, previously known by its A10 codename, across Asia next week according to new media report.
Sources "familiar with the matter" told Pocket-lint that the device, which is set to have the biggest screen ever seen in a BlackBerry handset, is likely to be unveiled at a series of international events next week. The primary launch will be in Asia.
Given that Blackberry is holding events in France, Malaysia and India on the 18th of September, the leaked dates seemingly confirm that the Malaysia event specifically will be used to reveal the Z30 - though France and India will likely see the new handset at their respective events as well.
BlackBerry itself was remaining tight-lipped over its launch plans, with all official press requests for details met with a stock "no comment" statement.
Despite the lack of official comment, a series of leaks over recent months has indicated the new device will include a 5-inch Super AMOLED display with a 1280x768 resolution, 1.7GHz dual-core processor with 2GB RAM, BBOS 10.2.0.1442 and a 2,880mAh battery. Other rumoured specifications include 16GB internal storage with microSD card support, Qi wireless charging and a 8-megapixel camera.
