Samsung has finally announced the Galaxy S4 Active the company’s latest durable Galaxy smartphone. It has a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) full HD TFT LCD display and not a Super AMOLED display as rumored. It is powered by a 1.9 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean). It has IP67 rating for Dust and Water Resistance with fully sealed design keeps dust particles out and protects against water damage for up to 30 minutes of submergence. The Glove Touch lets you access the screen even with gloves and the phone comes with hardware buttons for menu, home and back similar to the Samsung Galaxy XCover phones.
It has a 8-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash with Aqua Mode to increase visual quality and clarity for enhanced underwater images and video and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. It has Samsung’s unique apps and features such as S Travel (Trip Advisor), S Translator, Drama Shot, Story Album, Group Play, Smart Pause,Air View, Air Gesture, S Health and Samsung WatchON.

The Galaxy S4 Active comes in Urban Grey, Dive Blue and Orange Flare and would go on sale this Summer starting from U.S. and Sweden. It would be showcased at the Samsung Premier 2013 event in London on June 20th along with the Galaxy S4 mini. No word on pricing yet.
