Yes Microsoft has released a new version of Microsoft Security Essentials, the free anti-virus/anti-malware program for Windows PCs. The MSE 4.0 release is available via the Microsoft Download Center and the MSE Web site and also made available to existing customers automatically through the Microsoft Update service.
Interestingly, this version has been in beta since late 2011, and the last released version was 2.1. There is no indication of the need to skip v3 and the jump to v4; the latest build being 4.0.1526.0. The participants in the beta program who are subscribed to automatic updates will be upgraded to the final release of the latest version of Microsoft Security Essentials after they agree to a new license agreement. You can also do a manual upgrade from v2.1 or the beta release without uninstalling the previously installed version.

MSE is designed to be simple to install and easy to use. It runs quietly in the background without annoying notifications or interruptions. How to change your IP address in less than a minute? The following trick gives you a step-by-step procedure to change your IP address.
1. Click on “Start” in the bottom left hand corner of screen.
2. Click on “Run”.
3. Type in “command” and hit ok.You should now be at an MSDOS prompt screen.
4. Type “ipconfig /release” just like that, and hit “enter”.
5. Type “exit” and leave the prompt.
6. Right-click on “Network Places” or “My Network Places” on your desktop.
7. Click on “properties”.
You should now be on a screen with something titled “Local Area Connection”, or something close to that.
8. Right click on “Local Area Connection” and click “properties”.
9. Double-click on the “Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)” from the list under the “General” tab.
10. Click on “Use the following IP address” under the “General” tab.
11. Create an IP address (It doesn’t matter what it is. I just type 1 and 2 until i fill the area up).
12. Press “Tab” and it should automatically fill in the “Subnet Mask” section with default numbers.
13. Hit the “Ok” button here.
14. Hit the “Ok” button again.You should now be back to the “Local Area Connection” screen.
15. Right-click back on “Local Area Connection” and go to properties again.
16. Go back to the “TCP/IP” settings.
17. This time, select “Obtain an IP address automatically”.
18. Hit “Ok”.
19. Hit “Ok” again.
20. You now have a new IP address.
Some ISPs do not support this type of procedure and hence there are chances of getting back the same old IP address even after trying this hack.In this case you need to switch off the modem and then switch it on to get the new IP address.
NOTE: All these tricks works only if you have a dynamic IP address.But if you have a static IP address you have no option to change your IP

Indian handset maker Micromaxhas taken veils off the “iPhone like” handset of its own, which is attributed the name of Ninja, yes, Micromax A50 Superphone Ninja. Yes, the handset sports a voice driven app which is called AISHA(Artificial Intelligence Speech Handset Assistant), it does what SIRI does for the iPhone, works on a voice command. Folks, I know this comparison is a little superfluous, but hey, to come up with a handset which works on voice command is, for an Indian company, a massive achievement in itself. Let us explore the handset inside out.
Before divulging into the handset’s corporal details, I must mention the price of the gadget that will help you in making up your mind about what this all new handset is all about; the price of the handset is INR 4999. And at that low a price the Ninja offers you Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread operating system. In the processor segment the Ninja has 650MHz chip, which is seconded by a 256MB RAM. The handset has a memory expansion capacity of up to 32GB via microSd card.
If we talk about the dimension of the phone it has 113 x 61 x 13 mm of dimension and the TFT LCD screen of the mobile is 3.1 inches which supports 65K colors. Moving towards the camera specification of the handset, it has got a 2 MP camera on the posterior which can record you videos too. Unfortunately there is no front camera on offer.
The handset offers a 1200mAh battery, which happens to be the same specification that the Samsung Galaxy Y sports.
For the Internet fanatics the Ninja has an Android Browser in addition to the built in Google search. There is WAP 2.0 protocol. The other built in apps include: Document Editor, Ibibo, Saavn, Anitivirus, Google Talk, Google Search, YouTube, Android Market, MApps, Gmail, Google Maps, SNS integration.

All the Facebook fanatics have news to be happy; the giant social network announced the Antivirus Marketplace yesterday and has sent the invite to the players like the Microsoft corporation, McAfee, TrendMicro, Sophos, and Symantec to the Facebook security family.
“Starting today, we will be incorporating the combined intelligence of McAfee, Microsoft, TrendMicro, Sophos, and Symantec to Facebook's existing database of malicious URLs, and offering a wide selection of anti-virus software to our users. This program will help us provide even better protections to those using Facebook, no matter where they are on the web,” Facebook’s official page revealed.
The Facebook users will be able to download the full versions of the antivirus and that too without being charged a single penny. They will be able to download the licenses of any of the aforementioned antivirus for six months. This will further strengthen the Facebook’s already existing URL blacklisting system which at the present moment checks billions and billions of clicks per day.
And that is not all folks, the said companies will be regularly contributing to the security Blog of Facebook and will be providing important materials all the time.

Nokia World 2011 brought us the first Windows Phone 7.5 Mango devices from Nokia and now maybe it’s time to start looking for the first Windows 8 tablet made by the Finns. This could be a slate that looks like the device pictured below, a mere render of a tablet inspired by the Nokia N9.
Nokia must be careful here not to make the same mistake it did when trying to enter the market of netbooks. The Nokia Booklet 3G failed miserably because of the price and I really can’t see a solid reason for its purchase. Since Nokia is all about Microsoft these days, why wouldn’t they also join hands in the tablet field?
I know that MS has been trying long and hard to come up with an iPad rival… Thus, now that the Steve Jobs official biography revealed that the iPad was in fact an idea started to tease Microsoft, the Redmond giant has all the reasons to retaliate and the hardware coming from Nokia to be able to do so.
And the day finally came. The day of the flight lesson. The last part of the Mapstronaut competition prize. I went to the airfield now knowing what to expect. Three weeks ago I would have said I never flew before. But this.... this was going to be special. With a trembling heart, I stepped on the green grass we were going to take off from. And there I saw it. The FK9. This thing was about to give me a serious adrenaline rush. Headache. Dizziness. I loved it.
I managed to film the entire takeoff, but even with the N8's video stabilization, the airfield was pretty bumpy and the video shows it. First of all I want to share some pictures:
It was an amazing experience. I would do it again in a heartbeat. I strongly recommend everyone, if you have the opportunity, do it! Don't hesitate!
My instructor was an ex-military pilot, so he had a lot of tricks up he's sleeve. I flew the plane myself half the time, and he would take over when I got tired. And I did get tired, I was gripping the stick like my life depended on it. And I guess it actually did.

A while back I received a Nokia 603 from the folks at Nokia Connects as part of their latest Try Something New contest. Since I had the Lumia 800 review in the works, the 603 review got sidetracked, but here it is today.

The box
The box contains the usual wired headsets, Nokia USB charger, a Micro-USB data cable and the phone's battery. As part of the trial the #NokiaTSN box had a Nokia Luna too, as you can see in the pictures above, but keep in mind that if you purchase yourself a 603, you won't get a free Luna.
Hardware
The bump in specs is obvious for the new generation of Symbian devices. The 512MB or RAM and 1GHz CPU makes the 603 run Symbian like never before. Not to mention the GPU was also upgraded.
The internal storage is 2GB which cannot be compared with the N8's 16GB or the C7's 8GB, but I have to say that it can fit all the games and apps you can think of. You will have to buy a SD card for music and pictures though. I recommend you set you camera to store photos and videos on the SD card and set you Nokia Store to install apps and games on your mass memory and not on your SD card. The internal storage is way faster than your SD card, and as a consequence, you apps will start faster from your mass memory.
The display is a capacitive 3.5 inch LCD screen protected by a layer of scratch resistant glass. The first week I kept the protective plastic foil on the phone, until it actually peeled itself off and then I had to remove it. To my surprise, after a week of normal usage, there was no scratch whatsoever on the 603 display. I even checked the 603 specs sheet again to make sure it doesn't have Gorilla Glass.
Below the display you will find the three single body keys: Call, Menu and End call/Power off, while above the display you'll find the ear piece.
On top of the phone you can find the power/lock button, the Micro-USB port and the 3.5mm audio jack port.
Of the right side, you will find the volume rockers and the camera key. I have to say that the camera key is a bit hard to press, but keeping in mind that there is no auto focus on the 5MP snapper, you don't have to worry about pressing the key half way.
You can see NFC sensor and connector on the inside of the back cover, and I have to say that it works perfectly. I only used NFC to pair the phone with the Luna, since I had no other NFC enable devices around.
Design
I don't know which design Nokia came up with first, the Lumia 710 or the 603, but the point is, it's great. I'm not saying amazing, I'm saying great. It's no polycarbonate, it's not anodized aluminium but you'll quickly fall in love with it. It just sits neatly and comfortable in the hand. I actually could not believe that I picked up the 603 lots of times just to feel it in the hand again.
Build quality
The build quality is very good. There is no metal or Gorilla glass present, but the plastic used in the 603 is good quality plastic. The back cover that practically covers the entire back, has a soft rubbery touch that helps with the grip too. The scratch display makes a big difference compared to the Nokia 500 plastic one, that could get easily scratched if left unprotected.
Software
The 603 comes with Nokia Belle preinstalled(you can read my full review here), but about a week ago Nokia Belle Feature Pack 1 was made available for the 603. FP1 brings lots of new features and improvements, and a lot of widgets too. I will have a review of FP1 once I get my hands on a device running it.
The 603 however got left behind in the CPU bump department, where the 700 and 701 got a 300MHz bump, now running at 1.3GHz on FP1, but honestly I don't think the 603 is gonna suffer because of this. It's as smooth as they get, and FP1 will only speed it up.
Camera
Close ups are a no go on EDoF cameras, but landscapes are a pleasure. The 603 is very snappy when taking pictures, part of this speed comes from the lack of focusing time. Outdoors pictures look very well, but indoors, as any LED flash, it suffers. It's no match to the N8 and it's Xenon flash.

Video recording is as good as it gets with 720p@30fps recording. However, if you wish to record lots of HD videos, you'll have to get an SD card.

Conclusion
That being said, the 603 is not exactly your typical budget phone. It's on the cheap side, but you get a lot of value for money with it. It's target, first time smartphone buyers.
