All about New Smart Pen Lernstift/Smart pen

Hello friends,

Technology a word which always finds new meaning with their invention, After a launch of so many smart series like smartphones, smart watches  and now its turn of Smart pen. You may be thinking that what's new in that as it is already been launched earlier but just wanna make you clear  that now the recent launched  Lernstift is a hi-tech pen that vibrates every time it senses a spelling error or sloppy handwriting which can be used as regular pen with regular ink. It doesn't require a special paper to write upon and the pen tips are exchangeable - including a fountain pen module, a ballpoint module and a pencil module

Lernstift is developed by German scientists uses a battery-powered Linux operating system to control the sensors and recognize handwriting. Lernstift meaning 'learning pen' in German also hides a WI-Fi chip under the hood.Together those parts allow the pen to recognize specific movements, letter shapes and know a wide assortment of words. If it senses bad letter formation or messy handwriting, it will vibrate.

Users can choose between two functions: Calligraphy Mode - pointing out flaws of form and legibility or Orthography Mode - recognizing words and comparing the word to a language database. If the word isn't recognized it will vibrate.

Gesture-recognition smartphone technology/ tech news.

Hello friends,

Technology is taking a boom from day to day and in the field of  communication  at every second their is a new device with lots of new features  from normal handsets to smartphones and now what can you expect, expectations never ends in this field  and now its turn to gesture-recognition smartphone technology which is been introduced by a Goa MIT student Andrea Colaco which would allow the users to interact with their devices through thin air, which sounds to be  interesting and innovative.

This is a path-breaking discovery as this would aide the cell-phone companies to do away with the screen-touch technology that is currently in use in most of the smart phones these days.
Colaco not only earned a graduate and master's degree, and later earned one of the most-sought after doctorate seats at the prestigious Massachusetts Institute Technology (MIT), but has earlier this month won the MIT $100K entrepreneurship competition for her innovation which provides real-time, millimetre accurate 3D gesture sensing on devices like mobile phones.

Every cell phone device manufacturer is scrambling to bring gesture-recognition into their devices.

With the prize money she plans to take 3dim full steam. She plans to develop the technology for customers-smart-device manufacturers-who have already expressed interest in the product. 3dim is a team that consists of a bunch of technology enthusiasts who are excited about changing the way humans interact with computers.

The team is made up of accomplished innovators in signal processing, human-computer interface design and hardware systems along with veterans of the semiconductor industry and academic experts.

The unifying goals of the 3dim team are to define the future of computing interfaces and invent the next wave of smart input to portable and wearable devices. 3dim builds upon breakthrough technology invented at MIT that brings gesture control and 3D sensing to the next generation of post-PC era devices at a fraction of cost and power of existing solutions.

Her prototype requires only a few milli-watts of additional power from the phone, which is about one-seventh of the total amount normally used by a smart phone camera

Smartphones for Blind People

Hello friends,

Here is good news for the people who can not see and still want to use the smart phones as the world's first smartphone for blind people is going to be launched. Soon, they will be able to read SMSes and emails on this phone, which converts all text into Braille patterns.

He was motivated to develop the device when he realized that so far, technology was only serving the mainstream and ignoring the marginalized.

He is collaborating with IIT Delhi on making the prototype, which is currently being tested at L V Prasad Eye Institute in Hyderabad.

According to Sumit Dagar, whose company is being incubated at the Centre for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship, located in IIM Ahmedabad campus.

"We have created the world's first Braille smartphone,"  "This product is based on an innovative 'touch screen' which is capable of elevating and depressing the contents it receives to transform them into 'touchable' patterns,"
"The response during the test has been immense. It comes out as a companion more than a phone to the user. We plan to do more advanced versions of the phone in the future,"

Dagar started the project three years ago while studying interaction designing at NID. After working with a couple of companies, he gave up his job to concentrate on his technology, formed a team of six people and started his venture, Kriyate Design Solutions. Currently, the venture is being funded by Rolex Awards under its Young Laureates Programme, in which they select five people from across the world every two years and fund their projects.

Are you thinking how does it work then just check out below you'll have a idea
  • The smartphone uses Shape Memory Alloy technology, based on the concept that metals remember their original shapes, i.e. expand and contract to its original shape after use.
  • The phone's 'screen' has a grid of pins, which move up and down as per requirement. The grid has a Braille display, where pins come up to represent a character or letter.
  • This screen will be capable of elevating and depressing the contents to form patterns in Braille.

Servo, a New Web Browser/ News on New Web Browser "Servo"

Hello friends,

Samsung and Mozilla have come up together  to build a new web browser called "Servo",  that will take better advantage of ARM architecture, multicore processors on the phones, leading to better HTML5 apps and browsing itself.

The new browser will be called, Servo and will be written in Rust, a relatively new programming language that is being developed by Mozilla. Rust is Mozilla's new programming language. This language in itself is in early stages of development. Its version 0.6 was also released on Wednesday.. Together, Mozilla and Samsung are bringing both Rust and Servo to Android and the ARM architecture.

Mozilla's Chief Technical Officer, Brendan Eichneed
Noted that both the companies feel the need "to be prepared to take advantage of tomorrow's faster, multi-core, heterogeneous computing architectures. That's why we've recently begun collaborating with Samsung on an advanced technology Web browser engine called Servo."He added that the browser based on Servo will run "on modern hardware."

This means addressing the causes of security vulnerabilities while designing a platform that can fully utilise the performance of tomorrow's massively parallel hardware to enable new and richer experiences on the Web," he further said on the post.

Current browsers are not optimised to use multi core processors and therefore can't take advantage of advanced hardware that is available in today's smartphones and tablets. This browser is all the more important as people are talking about HTML5 based web applications getting the same ability as native apps (that you download on your phone or is already present). And for that to happen, you need to take full advantage of the hardware of the phone which this new browser will bring.

Free Roaming From the Month of October not march!!!

Hello friends,

As we all were waiting eagerly for the month of march when  roaming charges  used to be cut off but I'm very sad to let you know that still its not done yet and you have to pay the roaming charges till the month of October where ever you travel other then your state.

Union Minister for Communications and Information Technology Kapil Sibal

Confirmed that the free roaming facility will come into effect in October 2013 but did not specify the exact date and assured that the facility will be availed from that month onwards.
Earlier, the union cabinet had approved the National Telecom Policy (NTP) in 2012 under which the concept of "one nation, one rate" was introduced.

According to the plan, various telecom users could enjoy free roaming by using their same phone numbers across the country under the new mobile number portability proposal.

The introduction of free roaming charges will remove the existing distinction between STD and local calls. Mobile phone users can also enjoy free incoming calls, and outgoing calls will be charged at local rates.

However, telecoms are against NTP's "one nation, one rate" policy claiming that it will adversely affect their margins badly. Roaming charges contribute roughly 10 percent of their revenues. They also said that the plan will lead to security threat and undesirable competition.

After the Union cabinet approved the NTP, a leading GSM operator said, "Currently, the roaming charges are borne only by those who avail of the roaming service. Operators would need to recover this loss in roaming revenues leading to tariff increase which will be equally borne by the non-roaming customer base. To create a new tariff equilibrium, the tariffs in some non-affluent parts of country will go up and in other parts will drop
So friends you need to wait till the month of October for no roaming charges... Hopefully it'll not postpone again.

Facebook Profile may reveal signs of psychiatric disorder / How Facebook Profile may reveal signs of psychiatric disorder in you?

Hello Friends,

A person`s profile on Facebook may reveal signs of psychiatric disorder that might not necessarily emerge in a session with a psychiatrist, a new study has suggested.

According to study researcher Elizabeth Martin, a psychology doctoral student at the University of Missouri, social media activity when used as a tool in psychological diagnosis can remove some of the problems associated with patients' self-reporting.
Martin's team recruited more than 200 college students and had them fill out questionnaires to evaluate their levels of extroversion, paranoia, enjoyment of social interactions, and endorsement of strange beliefs.
The students also were asked to log onto Facebook. They were told they would have the option to black-out parts of their profile before some of it was printed out for the researchers to examine.
By asking patients to share their Facebook activity, we were able to see how they expressed themselves naturally. Even the parts of their Facebook activities that they chose to conceal exposed information about their psychological state, Martin explained.
Participants who showed higher levels of social anhedonia -a condition characterized by lack of pleasure from social interactions-typically had fewer Facebook friends, shared fewer photos, and communicated less frequently on the site, the researchers found.
Meanwhile, those who hid more of their Facebook activity before presenting their profiles to researchers were more likely to hold odd beliefs and show signs of perceptual aberrations, which are irregular experiences of one's senses. They also exhibited higher levels of paranoia.
However, it should be noted that participants higher on paranoia did not differ from participants lower in paranoia in terms of the amount of personal information shared, the researchers wrote in their study detailed Dec. 30, 2012, in the journal Psychiatry Research.
That finding suggests this group might be more comfortable sharing information in an online setting than in the face-to-face interactions with the experimenter.
The researchers said information culled from social networking sites potentially could be used to inform diagnostic materials or intervention strategies for people with mental health issues.

What kind of person you are higher levels of paranoia or lower levels of paranoia?

Google Image search gets a new design

Hello friends,

Google is all set to add some awesome changes to Google Images Search Where  if once the changes come into effect, users will be able to quickly flip through a set of images by using their keyboards.

• Google will now display detailed information about the image (the metadata) right underneath the image in the search results, instead of redirecting users to a separate landing page.

• Key information such as the title of the page hosting the image, the domain name it comes from, and the image size will be displayed much more prominently next to the image.

• The domain name is now clickable, and there’s a new button to visit the page the image is hosted on.

• The source page will no longer load up in an iframe in the background of the image detail view. This speeds up the experience for users, reduces the load on the source website’s servers, and improves the accuracy of webmaster metrics such as pageviews.
