Sunstrike Telecom, the Indian arm of Hong Kong-based Sunstrike International, has introduced a new smartphone for the Indian market, the OPS 80D. A quick look at the specifications sheet shows that this handset comes with a 5-inch FWVGA display. The handset measures 143x74x10 mm and weighs in at 170g. The company hasn't announced the smartphone's price yet.Under the hood, the 80D comes with a dual-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz coupled with a low 512MB of RAM. There is no mention about which company made the processor, though. Added to the offering is 4GB of internal memory, and can be expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card slot. For your photography needs, the handset comes with an 8-megapixel rear camera as well as a VGA front shooter. This dual-SIM smartphone runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, although the relatively low amount of RAM may cause some Android functions to lag.
Strikes the Indian market
In terms of connectivity, the device comes with Bluetooth, GPS, GPRS and Wi-Fi support. Other features finding their way on the list include a voice recorder, Google Search, GTalk and other familiars that the user can expect in any smartphone today. The handset is available in both black and white colours and rounds up its offering with a 2,200 mAh battery. One particular aspect of the specs sheet caught our eye: the handset comes with a limited Phonebook capacity that only allows for up to 1,000 entries, which is almost unheard of in smartphones these days. Here’s a quick look at the specifications of the OPS 80D:
- 5-inch FWVGA display
- Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, GPRS
- 4GB of internal memory, expandable up to 32GB via microSD card
- 8-megapixel rear camera, 0.3-megapixel front camera
