Here’s a piece of good news for Galaxy S3 users. According to SamMobile, Samsung has started rolling out the Android 4.3 update for Galaxy S3. The company had skipped the Android 4.2 update for S3 devices. Reportedly, it did test a few Android 4.2 builds but never released them and stopped development in midway. Now, the new 4.3 update for S3 will first roll out in Ireland (Vodafone), followed by other countries and carriers. The update will be made available both OTA (over the air) and also through company's Kies software. It will also bring Galaxy Gear support for the device. This means, Galaxy S3 will now join Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition and Samsung Galaxy S4, to support the Samsung wearable device.
Android 4.3 update on its way...
The Android 4.3 update will introduce some nifty changes such as new Samsung keyboard, updated GPU drivers, lockscreen with multiple widgets, improved ripple effect, new Screen modes, revamped settings UI, core UI elements and more. It will also add new Samsung apps such as calculator, contacts, gallery and music apps. The apps will be capable of working in full screen mode, and the update will also bring along revamped S-Voice. After the Samsung Galaxy S3, the Note 2 may also get the new Android 4.3 update later this month or early next month. Check out our reviews of the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2.
