Modern Combat 5 to be specially optimised for MediaTek's MT6592 octa-core chip

Popular mobile game-maker Gameloft has announced a partnership with chip-maker MediaTek for the former’s upcoming mobile FPS Modern Combat 5. According to Gameloft, the Android version of game will be optimised for MediaTek’s upcoming MT6592 octa-core chip.Modern Combat 5 will be the first game in the world to be designed specially for MediaTek’s upcoming chip. The game will feature crisper graphics and smoother framerates if running on a smartphone that has an MT6592 under the hood. There will also be added effects, such as water distortion levels, reflections, depth of field and shadows. The chip will also let the game feature a “continuous scrolling” level design, where levels seamlessly change from one zone to another.

We are delighted to showcase this innovative, high-end technology in Modern Combat 5, one of our most awaited games of 2014."The octa-core mobile chip was first unveiled back in July. MediaTek claims that it can make all eight cores of the chip work at the same time. This should give quite a boost in gaming performance, as well as improved multitasking. The battery will also see an improvement in performance. The company has also stated that all eight of the cores can run without the fear of overheating.Modern Combat 5 will be available on all smartphone models equipped with the MT6592 chip, and will be available for other Android smartphones through Google Play Store in early 2014.
