EA has released a new trailer for the upcoming Need for Speed: Rivals, and the video shows that the game has a higher emphasis on the storyline, for a change. It involves the person we assume to be the game's protagonist talking about how he lives his life without regrets, doubts or remorse. Check it out:
Much like the previous game – Most Wanted – Rivals will feature an open world and will have challenges and collectibles. It is being developed by EA’s new studio, Ghost Games. Need for Speed: Rivals will have a greater emphasis on cops vs racers. Much like the previous Hot Pursuit games, Rivals will let players play as both racers and cops, moving up the ranks in their respective “faction” and unlocking new customisation options.A trailer was released in September which showed off some of the game's car modifications. It looks like players will be able to modify the colour of their cars, apply graphic vinyl, and even get some performance boosts. More interesting, however, is the ability to buy special skills that can be used, for example, to escape the cops faster.
For those who don't know, the Need for Speed game will also involve cars
Sadly enough, there doesn’t seem to be any option to modify the body of the cars. This essentially means that players can’t add body kits, bumpers, side skirts or spoilers to their cars. Many would call this a step down from older games in the series, such as Need for Speed: Carbon or even older ones like the Underground series. The game is hitting Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC tomorrow. It is already out on PlayStation 4, and the Xbox One version will be hitting stores on November 22.
