Call of Duty: Ghosts update lowers RAM requirements to 4GB

Activision has released a new update for Call of Duty: Ghosts, and it brings a number of improvements to the game. Going by the list of changes reported by Reddit user mkapex1, the 400mb download brings the 6GB RAM requirement that was earlier present to even run the game down to 4GB. Currently, there is no official list of changes in the patch, and the update has only made its way to the PC version. In the single player campaign of the game, players take on the role of the underdog against an enemy that has superior numbers and firepower. This is quite a change from the typical Call of Duty single player campaign. The story opens with a strike from the ODIN (Orbital Defense Initiative) space station, a weapons platform which was designed to protect humans. An intense firefight in space turns the most powerful weapon ever devised against us, and the attack reshapes the world as we know it.

There seems to be a distinct lack of any real ghosts in this game

The update brings about some much-needed optimisation

But who cares about the single player in a Call of Duty game, right? Ghosts has the same multiplayer that fans have come to love, and features a new class system that offers deeper character customisation as either male or female soldiers, which is a first for the series. The game has seven new multiplayer modes, 14 maps out of the box, a new Squads mode for up to six-player co-operative play, more than 30 new weapons and more than 20 new Killstreaks.Call of Duty: Ghosts was released on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PC earlier this month. It will be making its way to the Xbox One in time for the console’s launch. It currently costs Rs 3,899 on PC and Rs 4,299 on the consoles. Check out our review.
