Three reveals iPad Air prices and mobile data bundles

Apple's iPad Air is due to go on sale in the UK on Friday, and mobile network Three has just confirmed that it will be stocking the 4G version of the tablet in its stores.

Three will give customers the choice between buying the iPad Air at face value, with a rolling monthly contract for data, or subsidised on a two year contract. The 16GB model will cost £499 upfront with either 1GB of data for £7.50 or 10GB for £15.

If you opt for a two year contract, you'll only need to put down £119 upfront for a 16GB tablet, then pay £29 a month for 15GB of data. A £25 monthly deal is also available, although the upfront cost rises to £179.

Although Three won't be flipping the switch on its 4G network until December at the earliest, the company is committed to unlimited data for both new and existing customers. The iPad Air supports expanded LTE frequencies over the outgoing iPad 4, so shouldn't have any issues connecting to Three's 4G network.

Until it does, you'll be stuck at DC-HSDPA+ 3G speeds. To get 4G speeds on Friday you'll have to head to either EE, Vodafone or O2 - assuming you live in an area that has 4G coverage.

Three also confirmed that it will be selling the iPad Mini with Retina Display towards the end of November, once Apple sets a firm launch date.

You'll be able to buy an iPad Air from all Three retail shops, online at www.three.co.uk or by calling 0800 358 8460 from Friday onwards.
