Samsung announces world's first curved displayed smartphone, Galaxy Round






Well we just took a glimpse at the leaked press renders of the Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Round, with curved display. And now the South Korean multinational corporation has officially announced the world's first curved displayed smartphone, the Galaxy Round, exactly what showed up in the leaks.



For your intense, and from the lines of the company's blog, the South Koreans have transformed into a mobile display innovator by introducing this world's first Thin Film Transistor (TFT) Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) AMOLED and Super AMOLED flexible display panel for it's devices.



The Samsung Galaxy Round will pack a Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, Krait Central Processing Unit (CPU) running at 2.3GHz, 5.7-inches Full High Definition Super Flexible AMOLED of 1920 x 1080 resolution display, 32 gigabytes of on board storage (expandable via microSD card slot), 3 gigabytes of Random Access Memory (RAM), 13 megapixels primary shooter, two megapixels front facer, 2,800mAh powered battery, and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean on board with Samsung's latest TouchWiz User Interface to add with. The smartphone measures 151.1 x 79.6 x 7.9 millimeters in size and 154 grams in weight.

From the design side, the handset features the same stitched leather look on the back, something we previously saw from the company's 2013 phablet, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

Samsung has also introduced a new technology in the Galaxy Round, the 'Roll Effect', which takes advantage of the curved shaped body of the smartphone to check date, time, battery, missed calls, mails and more notifications, by slightly rolling/tilting the phone towards one side, even when the screen is off. There's also a 'Bounce UX' for controlling the unit's music player by the same way.



The new smartphone from Samsung is scheduled to be available in Korea by October 10th, for a price about $1012.
