NVIDIA has annonunced the pricing and availability of its latest high end card - the GTX 780Ti - which it had unveiled at its Montreal event ten days back. The GTX 780Ti will start selling from November 7th at an MRP of USD 699 (Rs 43,000 approx).
NVIDIA GTX 780Ti will be available on November 7th
Due to the entry of the GTX 780Ti in the high end segment, the cards that come next in the NVIDIA lineup - the GTX 780 and GTX 770 have got a price cut. The new price for GTX 780 is USD 499 (Rs 24,600 approx) and that of GTX 770 is USD (Rs 20,194 approx). Those are huge price cuts considering the GTX 780 is currently retailing around Rs 50,000 and the GTX 770 is priced around Rs 35,000 in the Indian market. The price drops will reflect in India soon. AMD's pricing of its new R9 series of cards may just have caused this price drop. The GTX 780Ti is touted to face-off against AMD's flagship R9-290X.
ShadowPlay Beta launched with GeForce Experience 1.7
NVIDIA also announced the launch of GeForce Experience 1.7 and the beta release of GeForce ShadowPlay which allows you to record your gameplay using a dedicated hardware encoder. By utilizing this hardware encoder, ShadowPlay’s impact on game frame rates is far lower than that of traditional recording applications, which can place great strain on the CPU. With higher frame rates you enjoy smoother gameplay, and by encoding in H.264, ShadowPlay avoids the humongous multi-gigabyte .files associated with other applications. This saves space, but more importantly reduces stutter by avoiding unnecessary hard disk thrashing.
