Narendra Modi youth anthem video takes social networks by storm

Move over Mallika Sherawat’s seductive video wishing Narendra Modi-ji a happy birthday. To show stellar support to BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate, an ingenious singer named Krishnan Sugavanam has created a “youth anthem” that has gone viral over the past couple of days. Before you think of watching the video, be warned – this video is nothing like a normal “anthem” nor is it meant for people who’re not included in the “youth” bit of society. The video refers to Modi as NaMo throughout the song and even uses the word as part of the chorus. The music, while admittedly catchy, is something that you’d hear in a club. Sugavanam raps to the beats more than sings to it and the anthem has some completely bizarre lyrics dotting the track. Sample this – “He was a commoner who started just as a tea vendor/ Now he is a conqueror/ We call him the last air bender.”The man then goes on to rap this out – "Hospitality, Logicality, Practicality, Technicality, Sociality, Physicality, Geniality, Legality, Regality, Vitality, Totality, Originality, Punctuality, Spirituality, Immortality, Who's the man? He's the man."

Of course, this has created quite the buzz on social networking websites. Check out some tweets that have poured in for the anthem.

Not surprisingly, this is not the first time a youth anthem has been created for the darling of the younger generation on social networking websites. A five-minute music video by Mumbai based band cKORDZZ (read: C chords) was released to commemorate the politician’s birthday on September 17.

Add to it the fact that we now have Modi branded phones and a Modi game and you can be sure that the man is doing really well in tech circles. We’re now waiting on someone to release a Rahul Gandhi anthem too.
