Sistema Shyam Teleservices (SSTL), which runs its telecom services in India under the MTS brand, has now rolled out its 3G plus telecom network across nine circles in India. The network, according to the company, is based on the evolution-data optimised (EV-DO) rev B phase II technology and should be useful for high speed data services. The company, according to the announcement, will be rolling out the 3G plus services in Delhi, Rajasthan, Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kolkata, Uttar Pradesh (West) and West Bengal. The development has surfaced after the company was recently given permission by the DoT to use an additional third 1.25MHz slot in the 800MHz band which has now been employed in the new service. SSTL also recently received Unified Licenses to launch any telecom technology or network including 4G LTE on 800MHz in India.
