Miley Cyrus wrecks YouTube record with most views for September

We guess rocking yourself on a wrecking ball naked and licking a sledgehammer seductively does indeed pay off and YouTube is proof. A new report has emerged that shows that Miley Cyrus’ official YouTube channel has now become the most-watched in the world. According to Tubefilter’s monthly Top 100 chart, Cyrus has been rocking the video hosting website with her channel raking in 270.1 million views in September, a staggering 222 percent leap from August. Of course, credit for this massive leap in the channel’s number goes to Wrecking Ball.

The video that sees a heartbroken Cyrus comparing her love life to a wrecking ball (am I doing this right?) became the highlight of controversies in the pop world last month. Wrecking Ball released at the height of Cyrus’ break-up story with her fiancĂ©, Hollywood heart-throb Liam Hemsworth. It also caused a bit of stir thanks to Cyrus’ stark-naked look on a rocking wrecking ball that even sparked a few copy-cats to do the same. Another incident that needs to be mentioned when tracking why Cyrus’ channel is doing so well is her performance at the Video Music Awards that shocked the world. Cyrus dressed partly in a teddy costume ended up twerking with her tongue hanging out and turned into a meme. She followed it up with the video of Wrecking Ball and this did the trick on YouTube. The Guardian reports that to become the most watched channel in the world, Cyrus’ has dethroned YouTube’s superstar, Swedish Gamer Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg. His channel, named PewDiePie had been the most viewed till Cyrus came at it with a wrecking ball (geddit?)

He did do quite well for himself with 215.6 million views on YouTube for September but fell painfully behind Cyrus’ naked act. He still has the most loyal audience on YouTube with 14.3 million of them signed on to his channel, while Cyrus just has 2.9 million.
