Acer unveils 8-inch Iconia W4 Windows 8.1 tablet

With Microsoft officially releasing Windows 8.1, Acer’s put forth its first tablet that runs on the latest OS update. The new Acer Iconia W4 is an 8-inch tablet that comes with an improved display and runs on the new Windows 8.1 that brings back the Start button.

With the W4, Acer is said to have improved some features that were found to be sore points in its successor, the Iconia W3. One such feature is the display resolution. The W4 now gets an IPS LCD panel with Zero Gap touch and 170 degrees viewing angles. Though it still maintains an average resolution of 1280 x 800, the display has been improved for outdoor visibility.
