tech2 live: The latest from the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear India launch

The Galaxy Note 3 is about to say, ‘Hello, India’ and we are on the spot with the live coverage of the event from New Delhi. By now the Note 3 and Gear are no mystery thanks to the grand unveiling on the sidelines of IFA in Berlin earlier this month. Samsung has come out of the blocks in no time and the Note 3 will likely be available from next week onwards. We have also seen a hint about the Note 3’s price and it will be close to Rs 48,000 at launch. The India variant will follow the Galaxy S4’s processor specs and that means it will be an Exynos 5 Octa processor. The other specs will remain the same as the international model. We expect a 5.7-inch display with 1080p resolution, 13-megapixel 4K-shooting camera and a horde of software goodies.

As for the Galaxy Gear, we have no inkling about its price or how Samsung intends to sell the smartwatch in India. Currently, the Note 3 is the only smartphone that can work with Galaxy Gear. We reckon we will see some combo offers today for the Note 3 and Gear. What else could Samsung have in store for us? Well, there is talk about two new budget phones priced under Rs 15,000, but we have no official word about their release date or their announcement. It could be the surprise package of the day. So that’s it. Get into the thick of things with our live blog below and track our tweets (@tech2eets) for the latest updates as they happen. We’ll have polls, pictures and more.
