South Park: The Stick of Truth coming to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on December 13

South Park Digital Studios and Obsidian’s upcoming RPG, South Park: The Stick of Truth, finally has a release date. Ubisoft has announced that the game will be making it to the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 on December 13 this year. The release date for the PC version hasn’t yet been announced, in typical Ubisoft fashion, but it will most likely be a couple of weeks after the console release. To commemorate the announcement, Ubisoft has released the Destiny trailer for The Stick of Truth. The PC version of the game has been available for pre-order over digital distribution platform Steam for quite some time now. Sadly enough, however, the closest thing we have to a release date from the Steam page is “Available: 2013”. The game has been described the developers as the “definitive South Park experience,” especially since it has been written and voiced by series-creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker.

In The Stick of Truth, players will take on the role of the "New Kid", who has to make new friends among the South Park cast, and team up with them to save the world. Players will cast imaginary and made-up spells and swing fake swords. Over time, a simple children's game escalates into a battle of good and evil that threatens to consume the world.Quite a few characters from the South Park series will be making an appearance, with enemies including crabpeople, underpants gnomes and hippies, among other forces of evil. Many allies will also be showing up to help your cause, including not only the laundry-list of major South Park characters, but also those who usually only make cameos, such as Jesus.
