It’s D-day! Samsung is all set to launch its newest Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear smartwatch today. We here at tech2 will be covering the event live starting 12 PM and you can catch all the launch action here. While there has been no word on official pricing yet, a bit of digging through the HTML source code of online retail store Saholic has revealed that the Note 3 will be priced at Rs 47,990. For now, the phablet and the smartwatch are being offered by Samsung as a combo deal for a pre-booking amount of Rs 2,000 on the official India online store.
Here’s a quick look at the specs of the Galaxy Note 3. The phablet houses a 5.7-inch full HD display along with the latest Exynos 5 Octa processor clocked at 1.9GHz and a 13 megapixel camera. The company has added a leather layer on the rear cover and improved the TouchWiz UI to enhance the S-Pen’s functionality. Samsung’s Galaxy Gear smartwatch on the other hand comes with a 1.9 megapixel camera and will initially offer 70 apps. You will be able to make and receive calls directly from the smartwatch as well as take pictures. You can also use the smartwatch to receive messages and dismiss them. Currently the device is being showed off as a partner to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 edition), although there is talk of expanding the range to include the Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3 and Note 2.
