Sony has released a new batch of screenshots which detail the PS4's user interface in greater detail than ever before.
The images, posted to the Official PlayStation community forum by community manager Chris Owen, show the PS4's main menu, along with user profiles and the much-promoted video sharing tools, which will let gamers take short clips of their in-game exploits and post them online.
You'll be able to edit down longer videos into short action sequences, rather than upload the entire video buffer which could result in some rather boring footage. The PS4 always keeps the last 15 minutes of gameplay in memory, so you can jump straight into the sharing menu at any time if you pull off a particularly impressive special move, score a goal or land a headshot.
Owen also revealed some of the first official screenshots of the PlayStation app, the smartphone and tablet companion that will let you send messages to friends, track Trophies and even stream games from a PS4 console.
The interface looks very similar to the PS4, albeit shrunken down to fit on smartphone or tablet screens. The "Connect to PS4" button is clearly visible on the tablet app, which PlayStation executive Shuhei Yoshida used during his Tokyo Game Show conference to interact with the free PlayRoom game that's due to ship on every PS4 console.
We're still waiting for an official launch date for the PlayStation app, but there's a good chance it will arrive in time for the PS4 release on the 29th of November.
