Asus, true to its word, has finally launched the refreshed version of its smartphone-tablet hybrid, the Padfone Infinity, at an event held today in Taipei. The new device comes with a 5-inch full HD Super IPS display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920. Internally, the device comes with Qualcomm’s latest quad-core Snapdragon 800 SoC clocked at 2.2GHz. Photography-wise, the device sports a 13-megapixel primary camera with an LED flash along with a 2-megapixel front shooter. Asus has also tried its hand at a new camera technology on the device titled PixelMaster, which the company says will enhance the image quality by compressing them into a 3-megapixel image. Other companies like HTC and Nokia have also come up with their own versions of advanced camera technology, with the former using its patent UltraPixel and the latter coming to the market with PureView. The Padfone Infinity will come running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. In terms of dimensions, the device measures 143.5x72.8x8.9mm and weighs in at 145 grams. The new device also comes with 2GB of RAM packed in and also sports two internal storage variants- 16GB and 32GB, which can further be expanded up to 64GB via a microSD card. Connectivity is taken care of with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/AGPS, 3G, NFC and LTE support worked in. rounding up the package is a 2,400mAh battery. The Padfone Infinity will be available in two colour variants, Titanium Black and Platinum White.
