How to Install TWRP Recovery on the Nexus 4

TWRP Recovery for the Nexus 4
When it comes to custom development, Nexus devices have always been a step ahead than the competitors and why not, they’re the pure Android handsets from Google. Nexus 4 has recently got the TWRP Recovery, a custom recovery that helps in installing custom ROMs and flashing mods. You may have used the CWM Recovery in past, but this recovery’s a bit different in terms of user-interface. The developers have tried to keep the interface as user-friendly as possible while not compromising on features. If this sounds good to you and you’re interested in giving it a shot, then just jump onto the guide below to learn how you can install TWRP Recovery on your Nexus 4 device.

I. Before You Begin:

1. You must have done our How to Root the Nexus 4 procedure.
2. This will replace your current recovery with the TWRP Recovery.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. GooManager — QR Code (Google Play Link)

III. Installing TWRP Recovery on the Nexus 4:

1. First of all, head over to Google Play and get the GooManager app installed on your device.
2. Once it’s been installed, launch it from your App Drawer.
3. Press the Menu button and you should see some options on your screen. Hit Install OpenRecoveryScriptoption.
4. On the next screen, press Yes to confirm your action.
5. You should now see the model number of your device on your screen. If it’s correct, hit Yes.
6. Now sit back and relax as the app will automatically download and install the recovery on your device.
7. Once the recovery’s been installed on your device, reboot your device.
8. You’re all set!
Cheers! Your Nexus 4 is now having the TWRP Recovery, a fully-touch based recovery you can use to flash custom ROMs and a plenty of other tasks!
