Chinese Phone Maker Samsung has officially announced its new Galaxy Camera 2 Android-based camera. It is the successor of most popular Galaxy Camera which was launched in November 2012. Samsung has added new hardware specifications in Galaxy Camera 2 such as 16.3 Megapixel with BSI CMOS Sensor, 4.8-inch HD Screen, quad-core processor and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS out-of-the-box.
The Samsung Galaxy Camera 2 houses 16.3-megapixel camera with ½.3” BSI CMOS Sensor, Xenon Flash, 21x Optical Zoom lens, 23mm wide Angle, 1080p HD video recording and OIS Support. The Camera also features Auto focus, geo-tagging, optical image stabilization, face and smile detection.
It has 4.8-inch HD Super Clear LCD capacitive touchscreen with a resolution 720 x 1280 pixels resolution at 306PPI pixel density. It also packs with Multi-touch support and Corning Gorilla Glass 2 Protection. The device runs on Android v4.3 (Jelly Bean) Operating System paired with Samsung’s TouchWiz User-Interface. It is powered by Quad-Core 1.6GHz Processor along side with 2GB of RAM.
The device comes with Wi-Fi, WI-Fi HT40, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, MicroUSB, A-GPS and GLONASS Support. But Galaxy Camera 2 lack of 3G and 4G LTE Connectivity. It has 8GB Internal Storage; Users can get only 2.8GB free storage from 8GB and 64GB Expandable Memory with MicroSD Slot. Samsung also offers free 50GB Dropbox Cloud Storage.
The Android Camera includes Samsung’s unique features like S Voice, Smart Mode Suggest, New Smart Mode Selfie Alarm and Multi Motion video. It has 2000 mAh battery. It would be launch at CES Event from January 7 to 10 at Las Vegas.
