The Mahatma Gandhi of South Africa, Nelson 'Madiba' Mandela, breathed his last on December 5. Mandela, the former President of South Africa was instrumental in banishing apartheid from the country was 95. Understandably, everyone from celebrities to political bigwigs and the common man took to Twitter to express grief over Madiba’s passing. The news of Mandela’s death owing to a prolonged lung ailment generated over 4.8 million tweets showing the hold the man had on the world.
