It has been raining budget phones in the past two weeks and now Lava has jumped on to the bandwagon of sub Rs 10,000 phones with two new devices – Iris 503 and 3G 402. Designed by its in-house R&D team, the Iris 503 is a phablet sporting 5-inch display and priced at Rs 9,999. The 3G 402 is an entry level 3G smartphone priced at Rs 5499. The Iris 503 is powered with 1.2 GHz Dual core processor and 512MB of RAM. It runs on Android Jelly Bean v4.2 and is fuelled by a 2000mAh battery.

The entry-level 3G 402, on the other hand, is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and 256MB RAM. It will get Android Jelly Bean v4.2 operating system with an OTA update, the company says. It sports a 4-inch WVGA display with 480 x 800 pixels of resolution, and some other features include 3G, 3-megapixel rear camera and VGA front-facing camera.Both phones are being displayed at India Telecom 2013 exhibition ground at Vigyan Bhavan. India Telecom series of exhibition and conferences is organized by DoT (Department of Telecom, Government of India) and FICCI (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry) in association with industry bodies.
