LinkedIn has finally unveiled the post-acquisition avatar of Pulse social newsreader. The professional social networking website has announced that Pulse has been integrated fully across the Pulse apps and through LinkedIn.com. In a blog post announcing the integration of Pulse, Ankit Gupta for LinkedIn wrote that this was just supposed to be the first step the company is taking in order to ensure that its users get seamless content experience across LinkedIn’s multiple platforms. Essentially, LinkedIn Pulse is now the company’s main vehicle in order to deliver social news experience across mobile and desktop. It will go on to completely replace LinkedIn Today.
Better discovery, LinkedIn connect
The Pulse app has a whole new look to it now and social actions like commenting and liking will now be possible for the first time. Of course, all of this will sync to LinkedIn. Now any channels you follow on LinkedIn will find their way onto your Pulse experience. Professional news will now get an edge with discovery and navigation functionality added to it as well as expanded publisher content. When you now sign into your Pulse app, you will be prompted to use your LinkedIn credentials to login and will pull in all your LinkedIn information, so you get all the channels and influencers you’re used to on the website. Pulse will also keep recommending content customised to your LinkedIn preferences and professional interests. If you come across interesting content, it is also now easier for you to share it with your professional peers. Anything you like and comment on will instantly reflect on LinkedIn. LinkedIn says that it has also improved the overall search functionality with faster autocomplete suggestions. Besides this, you can also discover new content using the “What’s New” section as well as create lists across any topic of your preference with the “My Lists” section. If you think discovery with LinkedIn is something you would be interested in, you can download Pulse for iOS and Pulse for Android for your devices.
