Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas coming to iOS and Android in December

Rockstar is wrapping up the re-release of the three major games of the Grand Theft Auto 3 era. The company has announced that the third game in the series, San Andreas, is going to hit iOS and Android in December. Sadly enough, the company didn't reveal a specific date or price, but we expect to cost the same as the GTA 3 and Vice City remakes about Rs 300. The iOS version of the game will make full use of operating system's new controller APIs, which means that it will be able to work with Logitech's and Moga's iPhone gaming controllers.

The game will include the entire state of San Andreas, which includes Los Santos, San Fierro, Las Venturas and everything in between. It will also be getting a graphical upgrade, since smartphones these days are considerably more powerful than the PlayStation 2 was back in the day. It will also be getting touch-centric controls, such as contextual buttons that only pop up when needed and three different control schemes for driving and maneuvering. In an attempt to make the game less frustrating on mobiles, it will also be getting a reworked checkpoint system.San Andreas was chronologically the middle game in the GTA 3 series, taking place between GTA 3 and Vice City. It was the biggest of the three games, and added a plethora of features which, at the time, were mind-blowing. Two of the biggest features of the game were the ability to fly airplanes and swim, both of which opened up new avenues for exploration. Rockstar recently revisited Los Santos in Grand Theft Auto 5. Check out our review if you want to know how that turned out.
