Constantly look at the smartphone to read new notifications? That must not be. Students of the University of Stuttgart have developed a Desktop Notifications app , the Android Notifications displays in Chrome or Firefox browser.
In addition to the Android app, an appropriate browser plug-in is also installed. On the Android device Desktop Notifications will then access the Notifications Installed Apps granted before the mobile browser and the application are connected by entering a generated password.
Now all app notifications appear a few seconds after the display on the Android device in the desktop browser. Desktop Notifications stores here , of which a notification has been forwarded already apps and allows this display to disable unwanted app notifications. Thus, only the notifications from apps are displayed, the user wants to see .
According to the description in the App Store Play all collected data are transmitted via a secure connection . For forwarding the contents of the notifications are temporarily stored on the servers of the developer and completely deleted by the tell . Since this is a student research project in Desktop Notifications , anonymous information collected regarding user behavior with Android notifications that are only used for research purposes.
