The dust on Apple’s new iPhones has barely settled and the company is all geared up to host its next big event of the year on October 22. Yes, the invites are out which boldly state - We still have a lot to cover. The invite gets a similar dash of colours as we’d seen on the iPhone invite last month. It has got many minds thinking if Apple plans to add colour to iPads and Macs too. Here’s a quick run through what all we can expect at this Apple event.
iPad 5 in space gray and silver
After a string of rumours and leaks, it’s no secret that the company could be launching the next iteration in its popular iPad lineup and also a successor to the iPad mini. The fifth generation iPad 5 is likely to feature a 9.7-inch display, similar to the one seen in the iPad 4. However, it will most likely accommodate the larger display in a sleeker body. There have also been reports about the iPad 5 and iPad mini getting 8-megapixel cameras. The new sensor modules will reportedly be provided by Sony, allowing Apple to bump up the resolution from the earlier 5-megapixel sensors for both models. The tablet as well as the mini variant will most likely run Apple’s new 64-bit A7 chip. Click here to read the complete rumour roundup of the iPad mini. The October 22 event may also see Apple upgrade its Macbook Pro lineup. The new versions are likely to get Retina display and Intel’s new Haswell generation of processors. The inclusion of new processors should benefit the MacBook Pros with prolonged battery life. Besides, Apple is likely to reveal the new Mac Pro too. Though this professional-level desktop was unveiled earlier at the Worldwide Developers Conference, it hasn’t been officially launched yet. The redesigned Mac Pro will barely consume some one fourth amount o the space compared to its predecessor, and looks classy shaped as a cylinder. The company has added dual workstation GPUs which means the device can support multiple 4K displays.
Mac Pro...What a tease!
The event could also see the iPhone maker finally announce the release its new OS X Mavericks. Wouldn't it be a great way to launch the new MacBook Pro equipped with the Retina display? In fact, the company has reportedly been asking developers to submit apps for Mavericks too. Also, it should be noted that Apple has dropped the prices for OS X Lion and OS X Mountain Lion. However, Snow Leopard still maintains the same price.
There have been enough rumours pointing at a possibility of the Apple TV refresh. So, one can expect upgraded hardware for the TV. It is highly speculated that Apple is likely to introduce some exceptional changes to the TV at the event this year besides mere hardware upgrades.
While this is pretty much what the company could bring to users on October 22, one can always expect some surprises from Apple. Do you think, Apple will give us a glance of the iWatch?
