Users of Vimeo’s premium service are in for a little surprise as the video-hosting service is giving them a massive storage space of 1TB amongst other features. The company has promised to offer premium users "more storage, fewer limits, and better support.”In a blog post announcing the host of new features, Vimeo wrote that both existing as well as new Vimeo PRO members will be able to make the most of the “wildly upgraded” premium service. First up, the Vimeo PRO membership that costs $199 a year now includes a staggering 1,000GB of storage space. This is up from the measly 50GB of storage the service allowed earlier.
More power for PRO customers
The company says that you will be allowed to upload 20GB worth of videos every week, or 5 hours of HD video every 7 days. PRO members will also be able to make the most of "totally unchecked, completely unrestricted, and utterly unlimited plays anywhere their videos appear online."Premium Vimeo members will be able to get 1-hour email support on the weekends and 24 hour support on business days, just in case something goes wrong. Other benefits include 1080p HD videos all the time, on any device as well as priority video conversion and FTP uploading so you can get your work done fast. Vimeo will also keep ads away from your video and even make banner ads disappear on Vimeo.com when your viewers are watching your videos. You will also have a great amount of privacy control that will let you know how and where your videos appear. These changes come only a month after Vimeo changed the pricing and pre-order options for the new On Demand service that allows users to rent or buy through Vimeo at separate prices. These new features will go on to make the very-hipster Vimeo a better competitor to YouTube that has been dominating the video-sharing scene for long.
