Always one to support eSports, Valve has released an update for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. The most prominent feature in the update is the new WATCH menu. This allows players to watch live, in-progress matches played by highly-ranked players. Along with this, it also lets players access their match history and review the scoreboard for previous matches.Other features of the WATCH menu include the ability to download and watch any of your recent matches, and the GOTV Theater, which allows players to watch a continuous stream of live matches. The update was released for free, and will automatically be downloaded the next time you open up Steam.

Other than the WATCH menu, the update has mostly introduced bug fixes, such as one that allowed you to see the other team's weapons in a competitive game through the spectator menu if you were the last person to die on your team. This was mostly to maintain the sanctity Counter-Strike is known for when it comes to competitive gaming. One of the biggest aims of the newest iteration of Counter-Strike was to add more variety to the choice of weapons in the game. Veteran players will tell you that the only weapons worth buying in the original Counter-Strike, as well as Counter-Strike: Source, were the M4A1 Assault Rifle, the AK-47, the Desert Eagle pistol, or the AWP Sniper Rifle. Developer Hidden Path has set out to change that with major rebalancing of the weapons as well as additions of new, more viable weapons.Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has also introduced the series to a new generation gamers with the inclusion of new game modes and maps. The game is available through digital distribution platform Steam for $14.99 (Rs 918 approx), and through retail channels for Rs 699. It runs on both PC and Mac.
