The study reveals late night texting sessions mean a series of responses from others. Moreover, people tend to sleep right next to their phone. This eventually leads to buzzing and ringing from the phone each time replies come in. It is these sounds that could keep you awake and negatively affect your sleep. Moreover, people usually feel compelled to respond to messages at such hours, says the report. The researchers suggest that people should put their phones on silent before going to sleep. On silent mode and not even vibration mode, they mean. Moreover, they further suggest that the phone be flipped upside down to avoid backlight from keeping users up.
