Samsung's new Galaxy Note 12.2 spotted in leaked benchmark scores

Samsung's new Galaxy Note 12.2 spotted in leaked benchmark scores

The dust has barely settled since Samsung’s event last week, where the company officially rolled out the new Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) for Rs 49,990. Despite the slew of releases in the last month, it now looks like the South Korean company has yet another device planned, named the Galaxy Note 12.2. And the device has now surfaced in new Bluetooth SIG certifications and was even found in AnTuTu benchmark records. According to the certifications, the Note 12.2 comes with the model number SM-P905V, where the V suffix is presumed to stand for Verison. According to GSMarena, that could indicate that the tablet may come with LTE support as well. The report also looks at the leaked AnTuTu benchmark scores. From what can be seen, it looks like the device being tested comes with a Snapdragon 800 CPU. The leak compares the scores of the new device with the Note 10.1 (2014 Edition), which comes with an Exynos 5420 chipset.

A look at the results shows that the Note 12.2 was able to outperform the Note 10.1 in the Android virtual machine, RAM speed and 3D graphics category. The latter, however, was able to beat the new device in terms of RAM processing as well as CPU integer and floating point operations. Overall, the Note 12.2 was able to score 35,901, which is pretty high. There has not been any confirmation from Samsung about this yet, though. Thus, it is entirely possible that the device, when it finally comes to light, may come with an entirely different chipset under the hood, with the list of options including the true octa-core version of the company’s Exynos 5 chip, which will be able to run all eight cores simultaneously. There is also no word on when we will officially be able to see the new tablet, or what price tag the new device will come with.
