Finally, Samsung has confirmed the launch of its premium flip phone in the Indian market, the Galaxy Golden. The handset, coming with a two displays as well as dual cores, will set aspiring users back by a massive Rs 51,900. Targeting a niche market, the flip phone sporting a rich black casing accentuated with an elegant golden finish.
The smartphone comes equipped with two 3.7-inch Super AMOLED displays. The outer display enables users to make and receive calls. Flipping open the smartphone will reveal an inner screen and a large 3x4 keypad. According to the company, the innovative design aims at making the phone easy to use and operate.
It also comes with an ‘Easy Mode’ featuring large fonts and icons that enables users to access and search apps quickly. Another such feature is the ‘Hidden Receiver’ that allows users to take calls without opening the folder and provides high quality sound in noisy areas. Internally, the device is powered by a 1.7GHz dual-core processor coupled with 1.5GB RAM. Samsung has included the 4.2 Jelly Bean version of Android operating system.

Earlier today, it was reported that Samsung may have had plans to bring the handset to the Indian market, a speculation that has now come true. Earlier estimates had claimed that the Galaxy Golden could retail for Rs 49,990. The launch price of the handset is obvously much more, especially when you consider the Note 3, which is currently selling for around Rs 47,000.
